The storm is coming
There will be hell to pay
I wanna feel some shame
I just wanna cry today
You make me feel so bad

You only call me
Just cause you’re feeling low
You wanna pull me close
Dress me in your dirty clothes
You make me feel so bad
You make me feel so
You make me feel so

Why do I want you after all this time
Why do I keep on falling for the ways you lie
I should know better, know to draw a line
Now that you’ve learned a thousand ways that you can make me cry

This repetition
Is such a nasty game
I keep on getting played
Sleeping in the mess I made
You make me feel so bad

Whisper sweet nothings
Say what I want to hear
Make your intentions clear
When you up and disappear
You make me feel so bad
You make me feel so
You make me feel so

Why do I want you after all this time
Why do I keep on falling for the ways you lie
I should know better, know to draw a line
Now that you’ve learned a thousand ways that you can make me cry

I know what you want from me
I could give you the sweetest thing
But I’d rather be lonely
I’d rather be lonely
I know what you want from me
I could give you the sweetest thing
But I’d rather be lonely
I’d much rather be
I’d rather be

Paging Doctor Moon - Dumpster Fire (Interview)

Interview

Thank you Paging Doctor Moon for visiting.

Tell us about you.

I’m the singer/songwriter and bandleader for Paging Doctor Moon. We started working together in Brooklyn. The members of the band are scattered across the country now, but we are still so excited to release our new material. We are planning to reunite as soon as possible to play a few live-streams and start working on some new tunes.

Tell us a little about your new work.

We workshopped ‘Lost My Body’ for seven months before hitting the studio. It’s a collection of our favorite songs to play together; the album explores themes of toxic relationships, disassociation and healing. These songs are basically just raw expressions of personal experiences. We recorded them because we love them!

What are the main difficulties in being a new artist and how have you overcome it?

Well! It’s pretty difficult to maintain the energy to create anything these days! I believe that it’s important to give life to your experiences through creative expression, and releasing this material is very healing. The hope that it will make other people feel good keeps me creating.

What are your influences for the development of your music? Do you have any kind of influence today?

My music taste is super eclectic; I was trained classically in opera, but grew up listening to Nirvana. Lyrically, I’m influenced the most by storytellers – artists like Ben Folds, Kimya Dawson and Childish Gambino. Sonically, I’m influenced the most by jazz and rock.

What are the fundamental skills for the artist in the current scene?

Perseverance, dedication, openness, adaptability

What projects are you working on right now?

I’ve been writing a ton of music and can’t wait to be in the same city as the rest of the band so that we can solidify the material. I’d love to release a smaller collection of music by the beginning of next year.

Paging Doctor Moon we wish you much success.

And we’ll see you in the next interview. Bye!
