Facing changing
But the ghosts are remaining
My eyes in the rear view
I wanna drive
Reaching at daydreams
I need a story
My hair's out the window
And I wanna fly
Lost in time
Lost in the tide
I wanna drive
Lost in the tide

It's time to start to throw the pieces
It's time to watch them all fall down
And dance in the pain
It's time to start running
Toward the madness
Feel the rain
It's time to feel unhinged

Walking in circles
I'm back where I started
I need to breathe in
And finally cry
I let out a cry
Lost in the tide
Lost in the tide
I wanna drive
Lost in the tide

It's time to start to throw the pieces
It's time to watch them all fall down
And dance in the pain
It's time to start running
Toward the madness
Feel the rain
It's time to feel unhinged

When I go down this road
I just never know
What's gonna be there to drive me home
So just let me drive

Cenza - Unhinged ft. Jay-Elle (Interview)

Interview

Today we have the visit of the super talented Cenza. We love her work. Thanks for being here!

Tell us about yourself.

My name is Cenza (chen-za). I’m a Brooklyn based pop singer, songwriter, producer, and actor. I am a vegan, have a black belt in karate, and have my own business as a freelance press rep to other indie musicians.

We would like to know your history as an artist.

I’ve always loved performing, in various mediums. I started out in musical theatre, then in college booked more film and television work. It wasn’t until COVID hit that I really dug into making my own music. I’ve always admired larger than life performers – Judy Garland and Cher are my favorites.

Tell us the story of this song.

I wrote this song when I realized I needed a change. I needed to cut a cord and enter a new chapter in my life. Breaking free of something that is stunting your growth is terrifying and can throw us completely off balance, but it’s ultimately the best thing you can do for yourself. Feeling like you don’t know what’s next should be something that is celebrated and embraced, because that when the good stuff starts to happen. That’s what this song is. And just wait for the music video.

Tell us a funny story from your career.

Well, it’s not really a story. I act as my own press rep, but I use my real name when I reach out to folks. When I write to outlets, I pretend I’m someone representing myself. It’s a fun little acting challenge and makes me feel like a massive troll. It’s how I entertain myself during these utterly boring and uneventful times.

Also tell a story of overcoming.

Failure has been my greatest fuel my entire life. I love proving people wrong. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing. My freshman year of college, no one cast me in any productions. That’s how my indie film career started. Thanks Mulenberg <3

Leave a message for your fans.

Tony Hale once said in an interview, "Practice contentment where you are." That has really stuck with me through the years. If you’re lucky enough to achieve a dreams, something isn’t going to switch that will suddenly make you the happiest person on earth. I think practicing gratitude every day and finding the magic and beauty in the simplicity of what is right in front of you is the greatest form of self care.

Cenza you are perfect. We wish you much success.

And we’ll see you in the next interview. Bye!
